8/11/2007 - A new project was begun to link all AOT members names in the Alumni Directory to their high school yearbook pictures. So far  Oceanside is mostly complete, as well as most of Baldwin, Garden City, Valley Stream South, and we have started Valley Stream Central.

 The names that don't have links apparently didn't have yearbook pictures available. This is an ongoing project and may take a few months to complete.

 If your picture is not in your class yearbook, or if you know someone that passed away during high school, please send a picture to be used instead. To the Connecticut AOT Brothers, please e mail scanned pictures of AOT Brothers from your yearbooks.

4/14/07 - Saturday night 8 PM to midnight, the AOT Reunion at the Knights of Columbus in Oceanside NY. After hours party at Johnny's Union Park Cafe.

4/6/07 - Thursday night April 5th at 7 PM at Cannons Blackthorn in RVC. This is the last meeting of the Reunion Committee before the party. We need to collect as much as possible before the party. Bring your friends. We are close to the numbers we need, but we are still a few short.

3/16/07 - Friday night March 16th at 7:30 PM at Cannons Blackthorn in RVC. It is owned by RVC Class of 77 AOT Brother Craig Ryan. This is a Reunion Committee meeting. The second to last before the reunion. Brothers from all chapters are invited. Bring your ticket money if you haven't paid yet, and bring friends or collect their ticket money to bring with you. We are past the halfway point, but there is still much to do. We are past the point of no return.

12/29/2006 - Brew Up, Friday night December 29th, 7 PM at John's Union Park Cafe (Formally Johnny Russell's) on Long Beach Rd in Oceanside. Billy Young (Oceanside AOT Prez 1982) will be in town from Arizona. Come by to discuss the status of the upcoming Reunion and to have a couple of brews with Billy, who hasn't seen us since the last reunion.

11/22/2006 - Brew Up Wednesday night, November 22nd at The Tree House in Merrick on Sunrise Highway. This is a Brew Up to discuss details of the upcoming reunion. All Brothers are invited to participate.

10/7/2006 - Last nights Brew Up was success and we came to agreements on the upcoming all chapters AOT Reunion. We plan to hold this event at the Knights of Columbus in Oceanside. This event is tentatively scheduled for a Saturday night in April. We will announce the date as soon as we have secured one.  Thanks to Joe "Spooky" Furino, Billy Weitzman, Charlie Termini, Derek Timony, Kevin "Chet" Castanio, Geezer Cerbone and Phil Gerardi for coming to the meeting and presenting ideas. We are all putting a lot into this, so we sincerely hope all of you Brothers from every chapter come to this event. Never before has there been an all chapter party, and this one will bring brothers from every year and every chapter. From Brooklyn 1946 to Valley Stream 1995, and all towns and years in between. Don't miss it.

9/9/2006 - Baldwin HS reunion at Jones Beach. AOT Brothers should go to this, we will fly an AOT flag and all the Baldwin Brothers will flock to our section.

9/8/2006 - Brew Up at Braccos in Freeport Friday at 6:30 PM. If you are interested in discussing the next all chapter AOT reunion come to this Brew Up. No show, no reunion next year. This can be the greatest AOT party of all, but it wont happen without you showing interest.

We made a great choice inducting these new Brothers, they have taken the ball and are running with it. They are already inducting new pledges. President Chris Blatch has written an induction ceremony to compliment the Oaths of Brotherhood and our crest of knighthood. They are destined to be the best frat at the University of Calgary.

7/28/2006 - For the first time in more than twenty years NEW BROTHERS WERE INDUCTED INTO Alpha Omega Theta Fraternity!

At 9:30 PM New York Standard Time (7:30 PM Calgary time), Joe "Spooky" Furino (Valley Stream Central AOT President 1980), Bill Weitzman (Oceanside AOT President 1968), John Marceda (Valley Stream Central AOT President 1978), and yours truly, your webmaster Fred Gross administered the Oaths of Brotherhood and the Oaths of Office to the first officer class of the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Omega Theta Fraternity at the University of Calgary in Canada. Thank you to Joe "Spooky" Furino for allowing us to use his office to have the conference call, and for sending beautiful new polo shirts to the charter members. Thanks also go out to Chris "Trouble" Blatch for making this all come together on his end. Chris was inducted as the first president of his new chapter. Bring us a great rep on your campus our new AOT Brothers. The new chapters first officer class is as follows;

These gentlemen have promised to get busy and induct new Brothers right away. They plan to have more than 20 new Brothers by next month. 7/22/2006 - We had the honor of meeting John Stefano, one of the four founding brothers of AOT at Phil Gerardi's place The Fishery. John cleared up some old misconceptions about the fraternities founding date and the number of founding brothers. AOT was founded October 16th 1946 by four founding brothers. Not on Christmas Eve with fourteen original brothers as we had all believed. An interesting note about how the Brooklyn Chapter voted on new members, each member had a black marble and a white marble. Someone would walk around with a hat and each brother would drop one of the 2 marbles into the hat. Black marble meant a blackball. We always used the thumbs up/thumbs down method.

Also last night we had another great Brew Up at Hudson and McCoy across from Bracco's. The rain forced us to move, but we all had a good time and VSC President of 1980 Joe "Spooky" Furino gave out real nice polo shirts to all who came. Show up to the next Brew Up if you want one of these fine AOT polo's. Watch the Brew Up page for info on the next gathering.

6/28/2006 - Awesome Brew Up at Bracco's in Freeport last Wednesday. AOT Brothers from Valley Stream's classes of 56 and 57 came down. Attending this impromptu get together were, Jerry Seckler who was a charter member of Valley Stream's Delta Chapter in 1955, Phil Trichon who was in the 1st pledge class and was the only president of the short lived Valley Stream North Chapter in 57 and Bobby Plaia who was the Secretary in VSC AOT in 57. Also attending were the two legendary AOT Presidents Billy Weitzman from Oceanside 1968 and Joe "Spooky" Furino from VSC 1980, as well as Charlie Termini, Oceanside Treasurer in 68 and Greg Colarossi, RVC Sgt at Arms in 77. It was an honor to meet the guys that actually started AOT on Long Island. Pictures can be seen in the Photo Gallery.

6/14/2006 - Fantastic documents and pictures were donated by Freeport AOT 1956 charter member and Zeta Chapters first Secretary, Rocky Clarke. Rocky's pictures can be seen in the Photo Gallery and the Freeport 1956 documents can be viewed by brothers in the Brothers Only section under the Freeport 1956 Minutes and Documents directory.

6/12/2006 - Oceanside Brother Matt Kelleher's band will be playing at Brother Phil Gerardi's bar, The Fishery in East Rockaway New York on July 6th and August 31st. This an AOT Brew Up, so show up and wear your colors!

6/5/2006 - Freeport AOT Brother Jerry Bracco announces that every Tuesday is AOT day at Braccos Clam Bar. Just wear colors, mention AOT, say the password (you know what that is, right?), or give the Alpha Grip to Jerry and the first beer is on the house. This invitation will run the whole summer. Braccos Clam Bar is in Freeport on the Nautical Mile. Enjoy the best seafood, the best music and the best barmaid cleavage on Long Island.

5/30/2006 - In order to better the AOT website we have moved it to another hosting company. We are now using Bluehost.com instead of Web.com. The reason is that we were constantly over using our monthly allotment of bandwidth (the amount of traffic going in and out of the site). In addition, Web.com's service was way too slow and left much to be desired. With Bluehost.com we now have 400 gigs of bandwidth per month, up from 32 per month we were getting from web.com.  I am sorry for any inconvenience, as the sites features, The Message Board, Guest Book, Photo Gallery and Chat Room all have to be rebuilt from scratch. It may take a few days at most, but they will all be up and running ASAP. The new hosting company provides applications that are different than those we were using before, so you will notice a different look in all of those programs mentioned above. In addition, to those of you that have usernames and password to access the Brothers Only section, I have a list of all logins that have been assigned, they too will need to be rebuilt one by one. I will get to them all as soon as possible. Thank you to all that frequent this site, you have made it a success.

3/27/2006 - The original Charter of Incorporation of Alpha Omega Theta Fraternity Inc. has been found and can be viewed on the Brothers Only page. This document contains the names of the original Brooklyn brothers. This is the oldest document of our fraternity in existence.

3/06/2006 - Valuable documentation has been found from the Freeport Zeta Chapters books. A special thank you to Joe Testagrose for sharing it with us. Contents include the AOT Constitution, the Zeta Chapters by-laws and dogging rules. All this will soon be published for your viewing pleasure.

3/04/2006 - Rockville Centre Mu Nu Chapter's books have been located. A special thank you goes out to Greg Colarossi, RVC AOT class of 77 for allowing us to copy all the documentation contained in those books, including the Alpha Omega Theta Fraternity Inc. Constitution written 1959, and the Mu Nu chapters by-laws. Watch this site for the publication of those documents.

Alpha Omega Theta .com goes live and is here to stay.

Check this page periodically for upcoming events. This site is being developed as a point of gathering for the brotherhood known as Alpha Omega Theta. All brothers from every chapter are welcome here and we encourage everyone to pass the word about this site to as many brothers as we can reach.

We will be leafleting Oceanside, Baldwin, Freeport, RVC, and Valley Stream in an effort to find AOT brothers, to inform them as to the existence of this site and to bring the brothers from all chapters to their new site.

We are also looking for brothers to contribute old high school photos, videos and any memorabilia from the fraternity that we can post here on this site. We have pictures from the last reunion on August 21st 2004, as well as pictures taken at Braccos on Woodcleft Ave in Freeport the next day. They will soon be posted in the Photo Gallery. At the reunion there was a computer that had hundreds of photos and an old video taken at a senior dinner back in the 60's. We would like to get those up on this site to enshrine them for all to enjoy. If you have any pictures in digital format you can e mail them to webmaster@alphaomegatheta.com . Please include your name, chapter that you were a member of, and the year the pictures were taken and we will post them with all the info you provide.

Another topic, THE BOOKS!

At the reunion last year the rumor was that the Oceanside AOT books are lost and have not been seen in years. If anyone knows what became of the books please let us know. If anything is left of the books we would like copies. Besides Oceanside's books, there were numerous other chapters on Long Island and it would be great if any paraphernalia from any AOT chapter can be donated to this site. There was a gentleman we drank with at Braccos the day after the reunion who said he had the RVC books. He had offered to allow copies to be made. Please contact us and we will gladly pay to take the RVC books to Kinko's to make copies. As this site develops we may add a "For Members Only" page to post all the memorabilia.

One more thing, now that we have our own domain we get e mail with our fraternities name on it. Make a donation of photos, videos, or any memorabilia and you will get an e mail account that will be yourname@alphaomegatheta.com. We will add the e mail addresses to an AOT address book which can only be accessed by brothers with an AOT e mail address.

Lets build up this site and make it worthy of the name Alpha Omega Theta.
